Resignation of Mr Ken Barber from CIGRE Board

CIGRE Austraila Chair, Mr Trevor Armstrong has announced that he has reluctantly accepted the resignation of CIGRE board member Mr. Ken Barber.

In the note sent to all members today, Trevor acknowledged Ken’s significant contribution to board activities and CIGRE over many years including work on Australian panels, various WGs and involvement in establishing the AORC and Australia's representation on it.

Although Ken plans to spend more time living overseas, he has indicated that he will continue his involvement and interest in CIGRE. 

Trevor has informed members that as the board would like to maintain the numbers and strength on the board,  the board has approached Mr. Damien Sanford – Executive General Manager of Operations at AEMO to take up the casual vacant position of General Director until the 2019 AGM.

Damien was runner up to Mr Steven Jay in the November elections for General Director and as per the CIGRE constituiton will stand for election by members at the AGM later his year.
