The scholarship is one of Queensland’s most prestigious and longstanding and helps enable recipients to undertake a professional sabbatical in their chosen area, which for Mitchell is, "electricity network operation with a high penetration of distributed energy and inverter based resources". With Queensland, and Australia more broadly, in the midst of a transition to a network more reliant on inverter based and distributed energy resources there are many new challenges that the industry is still facing and learning how best to overcome. Mitchell aims to undertake his placements with two European companies in this field of study and learn from experts on how these new technologies can continue to be best integrated into the existing power network infrastructure in Australia. |
As Mitchell will be in Europe, CIGRE Australia has offered to sponsor his attendance at the CIGRE Session 2022 being held in Paris from 28th August to 2nd September.
All of us at CIGRE offer our congratulations to Mitchell and wish him all the best for his European experience.
