The integration of Distributed Energy Resources is one of the hottest topics for which many in the power industry are seeking to develop optimal solutions. These new technologies are promoting a dramatic change that is seeing industry organisations faced with new technical challenges in a variety of non-traditional areas.

The CIGRE C6 Distribution Systems and Dispersed Generation Study Group and Australian Panel are helping industry professionals discuss and address these challenges through the second edition of the biennial CIDER. (Conference on the Integration of Distributed Energy Resources). CIDER 17 is focused on the challenges associated with the integration of distributed energy resources. The 2017 event is scheduled for August 15 and 16 in Sydney.

The conference is generating a lot of interest and CIGRE is expecting a wide cross section of power system practitioners to attend. Delegates will hear and participate in presentations on the status and trends in a wide range of fields to do with the integration of DER in relation to the distribution network connection. This will include such things as microgrids, dispersed generation, storage and supporting technologies and infrastructure.

This wide cross section of participants is also generating a high level of interest from firms interested in promoting their products and services. CIDER presents a unique, technically focused opportunity for these companies to interact with technicians and power systems engineers in a, technically orientated environment.

Terry Killen Executive Manager of CIGRE Australia talks about the interaction;

“Industry exhibitors and sponsors have an important role to play at CIDER.   CIDER creates the opportunity to promote the latest DER products and services to a focused audience that is highly interested and technically minded. This helps share crucial information with technical people who are striving to stay across the latest developments.  Some of the presentations will also be from companies who are working on important and in some cases leading edge projects in the DER space. Technical interaction and drawing on CIGRE's global network and reach is a hallmark of CIGRE events generally and will be a real focal point at CIDER. "

Broadly speaking, the conference is focused on fostering information and knowledge across the industry in the following main areas:

• Dispersed energy resources connection and integration (including PVs, energy storage, wind, hydro, geothermal );

• Dispersed energy resources concepts in distribution systems operation and planning (microgrids and active distribution networks);

• Demand management and active customer integration;

• Rural and remote electrification.

If your organisation is interested in exhibiting or sponsoring at this event, please follow this link to download the information pack. We are developing a marketing and branding program which will provide sponsors exposure across our member and connection base including posts on our website, LinkedIn, conference brochures and advertising literature.

We are expecting a lot of interest and have limited exhibition space at the venue, so book early to maximise your profile throughout our promotional campaign and to ensure you don’t miss out.

If you would like to discuss the opportunities, please contact our Executive Manager, Mr. Terry Killen on (07) 3310 8838.
