CIGRE Australia AGM
The Annual members' meeting and AGM was held in Melbourne over the period 10th to 13th November.
Aurecon provided the meeting facility at their modern office complex in Collins Street, whilst AusNet Services provided a very informative and interesting tour of the new Brunswick Terminal Station upgrades on the Saturday morning.
The CIGRE Australian Technical Committee (ATC) met on Thursday to discuss issues related to the operation of their respective panels and discuss planning for the year ahead. This was a very fruitful meeting as it provided one of the few opportunities that Panel convenors have to meet and discuss face-to-face.
The members' dinner was held on the Thursday night at the Melbourne Aquarium (SEALIFE) and provided a very interesting dinner environment as well as an entertaining presentation on the sea-life and operation of the aquarium.
The AGM on the Friday was well attended and provided the board with the opportunity to discuss progress with member's and to address members questions.
Director Treasurer Mr. Trevor Armstrong and General Director Dr. Stephen Jay were elected unopposed for another two year term.
Members were also fortunate to have a guest presentation from Mr. Ben McInnes, Senior Manager - Business Development with ACCIONA on the topic of renewables in Australia and Global trends.
