SEAPAC 2015 - South East Asia Protection and Automation Conference

17 – 18th March: Sydney

SEAPAC is now in its fifth year and is fast establishing itself as a must-attend event to discuss and discover best practice on protection and automation issues in the region.

SEAPAC has become very popular as a unique conference focused on protection and control systems for the electrical power industry.  It features a wide range of subjects covering traditional protection issues through to evolving technology deployment such as IEC 61850.

As well as attracting several international speakers and well known industry sponsors and exhibitors, this year’s key note speaker will be Mr Ian McLeod – Chief Executive Officer of Ergon Energy – a Queensland Government owned distribution business.

CIGRE Technical Seminar

CIGRE Tutorials

20th April: Sydney

CIGRE Tutorials provide an overview of the detailed information contained in CIGRE Technical Brochures, which are developed by a Working Group of experts from around the world. Each Tutorial is developed by the Working Group and is normally presented by one of the members of the Group. A number of these tutorials will be presented in this one day seminar.

The seminar, which is run in conjunction with TechCon 2015,  will provide a unique opportunity for attendees to gain insight into some of the significant work that CIGRE is involved in on a global basis; and to discuss the work with an expert from the Working Group.

CIDER15  -  Conference on the Integration of Distributed Energy Resources

19th -20th August: Brisbane

CIDER15 is a new conference that CIGRE Australia is hosting and staging. IEEE will be a Technical Sponsor. 

CIDER is a practical conference for industry practitioners focusing on the integration of distributed energy resources (DER) from a network perspective.  The conference will focus on contemporary issues and promote sharing of knowledge and best practice within the Asia Pacific region.

In its inaugural year and still in its early stages of planning, interest is already growing and the conference is shaping up to have some excellent speakers and interesting and relevant topics.  More information will be available at our events page as the conference takes shape.

NGN seminar

CIGRE Australia is keen to support the development of our young engineers through the  NGN (Next Generation Network). As such, we are in early discussions with QUT to hold a joint engineering seminar/activity later this year.  It is envisaged that this event will be organised and presented by the NGN for young engineers.  More detail and a program will be available from our events website.  

AGM

Technical Meeting - 19th November: Sydney

AGM 20th - November: Sydney

This year’s ANC Technical meeting will be held at AUSGRID’s Silverwater education centre in Sydney. The AGM will be held at the same venue the following day.

Free transport will be available from the Sydney CBD to and from the Centre.
